The
MASTS PROJECT Multi-Agency Supported Tenancies Scheme |

|
INTRODUCTION TO MASTS MASTS is based in the Allerton area of Bradford and is an agency providing supported housing for vulnerable 16 – 25 year olds who are in need of independent accommodation. The aim of MASTS is to enable young people to achieve more independent, settled lives in a secure home base. There are 31 self – contained flats on the scheme. MASTS rents these flats from Incommunities. The young people are given an Assured Shorthold Tenancy, with MASTS acting as landlord. Support offered to the young people includes advice and assistance with moving in, budgeting, setting up fuel accounts, welfare benefits, ordering repairs, arranging adaptations for young people with disabilities and other practical and emotional support, depending on the young person’s needs. All the flats are fully furnished and are fitted with intruder alarms. We take great care to make the properties as secure as possible and also encourage our tenants to do so, as part of the support which we offer. This work is based on individual support agreements signed and agreed between MASTS, the young person and, where appropriate, other agencies which are involved in providing support.
